This fun and engaging camp will provide the financial decision-making tools teens need to create financial independence. The lessons learned at this camp will help create good financial habits that will last a lifetime.
The camp days will be filled with high-energy games, hands-on activities, and stimulating workshops on money management, and great guest speakers. The camp is designed to motivate and educate students about how to make financial decisions and give them an introduction to real life financial decision making.
Several camps will be held around the City of Houston and various Houston Community College campuses. The camp will cover the fundamentals of sound money management and the basic concepts of financial planning and personal financial responsibility.
During the camp, your teen will learn about:
Getting their first apartment from a property manager
How to buy a car and insure and maintain it
Using credit cards and interest payments
Opening and managing a bank (checking) account
Choosing a career to support their desired lifestyle
Reading a paycheck and using it wisely
Budgeting for saving, spending, and investing and so much more
The workshops are also an opportunity for teens to ask questions about finances and have them answered by professionals who are experts in their field.
